PTL CELEBRATE 20 YEARS
On June 20th 2008 PTL celebrated its 20th year anniversary.
PTL has its roots firmly set in the chocolate industry as well as a passion for all things confectionery. Over the past 20 years we have developed a an extensive range of chocolate processing equipment, which includes Melting, tempering, moulding, depositing, enrobing and cooling equipment.
Prior to the company’s formation, Jim Halliday, the founder and managing director of PTL, had many years experience in the chocolate industry as a chief engineer, seeing the problems, pitfalls and ultimately solutions in the industry. Out of this experience, PTL’s philosophy was born, to design and build premium quality equipment which is easy to clean and simple to operate ….. simply irresistible.
Beyond its foundation years, PTL diversified into new markets. With tremendous growth in the muesli/health bar markets, along with customer requests, we’ve developed a full range of bar-manufacturing equipment, which includes forming, cooling, cutting and enrobing equipment. With our customer-friendly focused approach to processing, our barlines are unique to the market and have become a major part of our business.
In recent years we have become increasingly involved in tradeshows and events such as The Process Expo, IBIE, PMCA, Contech and Interpack. With an active drive for sales the increased exposure of our brand & product as well as alliances with key industry partners such as Haas of America, we focus on growth in all markets and aim to continue on and develop as a major player in the global market.
As we move forward we continue to innovate and develop Irresistible equipment solutions to achieve perfection in chocolate-processing and bar -manufacturing. Currently, we are working on some very unique concepts, which you’ll be informed about as they develop.

PTL SIGN USA AND CANADA AGENCY AGREEMENT WITH HAAS MONDOMIX USA
We are now represented in the USA & Canada by Franz Haas Machinery of America, Inc. The USA has been an important market for us since our conception in 1988. Based in Richmond Virginia, Franz Haas Machinery of America will be providing full sales and after sales service. Franz Haas are well known as the worlds leading provider of wafer, waffle and cookie machinery, with their knowledge, resources and expertise they plan to assist us in continuing our rapid growth in this market.
PTL ULTRASONIC GUILLOTINE FURTHER IMPROVES BAR CONSISTENCY AND BARLINE EFFICIENCY
PTL Ultrasonic Guillotines have been developed for the following types of industries: nutritional, muesli, cereal and protein bar manufacturing, bakery, licorice and cakes. They can also be used with almost any food product that can be cut i.e. Fish, cheese, dried fruit etc. PTL are yet to find a product which is too sticky.
All units are fitted with Branson/Consonic ultrasonic parts and controlled via an Allen Bradley interface screen. The blade has two servo actions for accurate timing and cut lengths, all on screen settings can be adjusted and set whilst in production.
PTL have developed a unique system to allow the product to be cut, whilst being able to eliminate pressure at the cut point and also producing a gap between each product piece after the cutting action. There is no contact between the blade and the belt, resulting in a cleaner belt when running sticky products. The result is safe, simple and speedy cleaning. To meet customer’s needs, PTL have paid particular attention to ensure operators have easy access for removal of parts for cleaning. Hand locking devices are used, which are all on safety retaining cords, eliminating tools entirely.
All units are of stainless steel construction, with food grade plated titanium blades, and food grade polyurethane transfer belt contact parts.
Standard machines range from 200 mm to 1,600 mm wide. However, if customers have a need for something unusual, PTL are more than happy to cater to their specific needs and develop a unit to suit.
